Inner thigh lift
If you wish to get rid of unwanted fat on your inner thighs, as a result of weight loss or simply aging, you can opt for inner thigh lift plastic surgery, which is an excellent way to achieve firmer and more attractive-looking upper legs.
Sometimes the inner thighs require more than just liposuction. Fat accumulation is usually accompanied by sagging of the skin, which after liposuction fails to fully contract. This results in a multitude of tiny wrinkles. Drastic weight-loss can also leave the inner thighs with rather saggy and loose skin. This is when an inner thigh lift is required. There are also cases where women with slim thighs without cellulite have sagging inner thighs. Here, it serves no purpose to perform liposuction, because it is just a matter of slackening of the skin. Only a lift will solve the problem.
Procedure
The surgeon removes excess skin from the inner thighs. The scars are hidden along the natural crease of the groin up to the perineum.
Anaesthetic
An inner thigh lift is carried out under general anaesthetic.
Length of time
The length of time for an inner thigh lift takes an average of two hours.
Your Stay
An inner thigh lift may be carried out as a day-case or with a hospital stay, depending on the importance of skin to be removed.
Post-op
After an inner thigh lift, both swelling and bruising are common and can last for up to six weeks. It is normal to experience some difficulty in walking and pain when sitting down during the first five days. A support stocking is worn around the clock for three weeks and during the day for the week thereafter.
Resuming Daily Activities
We recommend that patients resume their daily and professional activities after about ten days.
Do not hesitate to accept help with household chores (even vacuum cleaning should be avoided during the first week).
Results
The end results become visible from about the fourth month onwards. Although the appearance of the tighs are drastically improved, the patient must be aware that in contrast to liposuction alone, some scarring, although slight, is unavoidable.
